West Shore Lake Tahoe offers many activities for the outdoor enthusiasts.  There are many trials in the Tahoma and Homewood areas for trail running, hiking, walking the dog or just a nice walk in the woods.  The bike path runs from Tahoe City along the West Shore, through Sugar Pine Point State Park and now ends in Meeks Bay; the project was just completed last year.  Eagle Rock is a great climb for incredible views of Lake Tahoe.  There are many routes for rock climbing all around Emerald Bay.  Homewood Mountain Resort is a great area to ski and ride with great views of all the East, South and North Shores of Lake Tahoe including neat views of the infamous Chambers Landing Bar on the lake.  D.L. Bliss State Park is just 8 miles to the south which has great trails and one of the best sandy beaches on all of Lake Tahoe.
