Life in Lake Tahoe with a bit of real estate news

Hurricane Bay is on the west shore of Lake Tahoe roughly three miles south of Tahoe City.

Hurricane Bay is dog friendly but Hwy 89 is close so be careful.  The shore drops off quickly so it is a good place to throw the ball or stick if you have a dog that enjoys water.  It can be a busy spot in the summer but there's lots of parking.

Emerald Bay is located on the west shore of Lake Tahoe approximately 18 miles south of Tahoe City and approximately 12 miles from South Lake Tahoe.  The state park has a boat-in camp ground and Eagle Point Camp ground.

Make sure to speak a little "Chicago" to Timbo for us.  Zano's is located in Truckee between the DMV and Wild Cherries.  They have a big parking lot with plenty of parking.  Zano's menu consists of appetizers, soups, salads, pasta dishes, entrees, a family take home menu, calzones and awesome pizzas.  If you have a little extra time and a large appetite, the Godfather is a must.  They have a full bar with wine, beer and specialty drinks.  They offer lunch Thursday through Sunday and dinner nightly....

Shirley Canyon is a great intermediate day hike.  It is approximately four and a half miles to the lake and back.  The trail starts in the back of Squaw Valley and crosses many rock croppings and there are a few stream crossings.  Bring water and some food if you plan on hiking to the lake.  I've heard many hiking all the way to High Camp and taking the cable car down.

This is located on Alpine Meadows Rd approx a half mile from the ski area.

Look for a big old dead tree near the trail head.  There is a sign there as well and parking on the road.  This is a great hike up to a few alpine lakes and has some great sc...

Burger Me is located in Truckee, CA on the western end of Commercial Row near the roundabout.

Voted one of the best burgers, Burger Me also has tasty appetizers, sandwiches, milk shakes and ice cream, a kids menu, and weekly specials.  They also serve bottled and draft beer.

Lake Tahoe is a big vacation destination, literally and figuratively. It's the country's second-deepest lake (Crater Lake is the deepest, FYI). You could also say the vast diversity makes this place larger-than-life, too.

While many go to California to see Disney, Hollywood, or Monterey Beach, Lake Tahoe is truly in a class in of itself. You have 12 different resorts, dozens of famous restaurants, skiing, jet skiing, scuba diving, and fine wining. If you're planning for a Lake Tahoe family...
