Alpine Meadows is a community with larger / newer homes as well as the "old Tahoe" feeling cabins.  Bear Creek runs from the Alpine Meadows Ski Area and flows through the center of the valley approximately 2 miles to the Truckee River.  Tahoe City is approximately 3 1/2 miles to the SE and Squaw Valley is located in the next valley to the North; approximtaley 2 miles.  It is approximately 5 miles from resort to resort.

Northstar At Tahoe has something for everyone in the family.  It is located between Truckee and Kings Beach.  Amenities include ski area, restaurants and shops in the village, golf course and much more.  Once you arrive at Northstar you really do not have to leave.  The Village offers many restaurants, bars, shops and other food options.  They have many events throughout the whole year and with the ice skating rink, it is always fun to strap on some skates.

Sugar Bowl is located on the summit of Donner Pass near Soda Springs.  Sugar Bowl is known to have the first chairlift in California and was opened in December of 1939.  Walt Disney was one of the initial investors in 1938 when the Sugar Bowl Corporation was formed.  Sugar Bowl consists of 4 peaks and 1650 skiable acres with 13 lifts up to 103 trails.  They have a terrain park, snow making and they groom approx 500 acres.  Crowley's is their longest run at over 3 miles long and The Palisades is their steepest.

Diamond Peak ski resort is located in Incline VIllage, NV.  There are incredible views of Lake Tahoe and itt is easy to get from the parking lot to the lifts.  The mountain is open from 9am till 4pm, weather permitting and the ticket windows opens at 8:30am.  The base elevation is 6700 ft and the is 8450 ft.  There is 655 skiable acres with 30 runs, tree skiing and a terrain park.  There are 6 lifts with a high speed quad unloading at the top of Diamond Peak.

Mikuni Japanese Restaurant has many locations in the Sacramento area and opened a restaurant in Northstar.  They offer banquets, catering, special events and sushiology which is a hands on sushi class.  The menu includes small plates, salads, bento boxes, dinner items, nigiri sushi and sashimi, rolls, other items from the sushi bar and party platters.

Petra is located in The Village at Northstar. They serve lunch and dinner and have an extensive selection of wine. The menu consists of many unique items such as an Artisan cheese plate, Spanakopita, homemade hummus, salads, pastas, short ribs, sea bass, and tasty desserts. They also offer wine flights, wine tasting, and various beers.

Tacos Jalisco has a location in the Village at Northstar and in Truckee behind 7-11.  They offer tasty food covering typical Mexican plates.  The decor is simple Mexicano as well as the presentation of the plates but the food is always consistent and very good.  They also offer beer and wine.  This is a great place for a quick, tasty, authentic meal.

 

Tavern 6330 is located in The Village at Northstar near the Gondola, in fact one can ski to their deck from the Village Run.  They have great apps, soups, salads, sandwiches, medium and large entrees, as well as a kids menu and tasty desserts.  They offer a full bar with wine and beer.  This is a great location to relax after a few runs or a full day of skiing or riding.

The Rubicon Pizza Company is located in the Village at Northstar near the ice skating rink.  Their menu includes appetizers, pasta dishes, pizzas, salads, desserts and a kids menu.  The bar serves bottle and draught beer and red and white wine.  They have a comfortable atmospher and this is a great place to hang out after a long day on the slopes.
