Heavenly Mountain Resort
New Lift and Four New Runs!
This latest infusion of cash will include the installation of a new lift replacing the Olympic chair, called Olympic Express. With this new chair, four new runs will be available in this area: The Pines, Bohemian Grove, Nevada Woods and Nova.
Heavenly's slopes will receive even more meticulous attention with four new low-emission Prinoth 350 groomers and one new, state-of-the-art PistenBully 600 ultra-low-emission snow groomer. Numbering 16, Heavenly maintains its claim to the largest fleet of Prinoth 350s in North America. Heavenly's state-of-the-art snowmaking system, which services 70% of the mountain's runs, will also see improvements for the coming season.
Also new this winter will be the Heavenly Sky Flyer at Adventure Peak. This elevated zip line cable ride will take guests on a 50-mile-an-hour thrill ride from the top of Tamarack Express back to the top of the Gondola, a vertical drop of 525 feet. At 3,100 feet, the Heavenly Sky Flyer will be the longest zip line in the lower 48 U.S. states.

Sugar Bowl
In 1938 Walt Disney was among the visionaries who helped pick this picture-perfect location, and placed upon it the first chair lift in California. Because we were up here first, we naturally picked the best site.
What Mr. Disney and his fellow adventurers found was a prime location near Donner Summit: a place of precipitous peaks, steep narrow chutes and wide open bowls. But more than that, they picked a spot that receives more snow than almost anywhere in North America. On average, receiving over 500 inches of feather-light snow per year. It also happened to be easier to get to than other sites in the Tahoe area.
Once you discover Sugar Bowl, you'll see how the same man who brought the Matterhorn to Southern California, out did himself with a grander, truer alpine experience in the Sierras. One with lots more fun and tons more snow.
