The water master controlled the Truckee River flow and used to live in the now restored cabin. Today it is the North Lake Tahoe Historical Society museum. It sits between Fanny bridge and Bank of the West and has a beautiful park to sit and picnic. The Cabin also houses the Marion Steinbach Indian Basket Collection, which is currently valued at close to a million dollars. Museum is open may 1st –Labor Day
