Beaches from Tahoe City to Kings Beach

Commons Beach (Tahoe City)

In the heart of Tahoe City Commons Beach is a step away from the town’s shops and restaurants.  The beach is located next to the fire station and offers a spectacular view, a sandy shallow beach, a grassy area, BBQs, restrooms, a great playground for the little ones, and hosts the Farmer’s Market during the summer months.

Tahoe State Recreation Area (Tahoe City)

Located just East of Tahoe City this beach is operated by the California State Parks.  The park offers camp sites, picnic tables, and a public pier.  The site is open from dawn to dusk.

Skylandia Park (Dollar Hill)

Two miles East of Tahoe city on Lake Forest Road is Skylandia Park.  The park offers trails, picnic tables, barbeques, and a public pier.

Carnelian Bay Beach (Carnelian Bay)

This rocky beach offers picnic tables and is located between Sierra Boat Company and Garwood’s Grill and Pier restaurant.

Patton Beach (Carnelian Bay)

Located across from Onyx Street Patton Beach is roughly five miles East of Tahoe City in Carnelian Bay.  This rocky beach offers picnic tables and barbeques.

Tahoe Vista Recreation Area (Tahoe Vista)

This beach offers picnic tables, barbeques, and a boat launch.  Head up National Avenue for tennis courts, softball and soccer fields, and a great network of trails.

Moondunes Beach (Tahoe Vista)

Located near Pino Grande Avenue in Tahoe Vista this spot offers a sandy beach and shallow water for the kids.

North Tahoe Beach Center (Kings Beach)

Across the street from the Old Brockway golf course, this beach has sand Volley Ball courts as well as picnic tables and barbeques.

Kings Beach State Recreation Area (Kings Beach)

The city’s largest beach offers more that a half mile of sandy beach.  The area also offers a boat launch, pier, picnic tables, barbeques, basketball court, a playground for the kids, and hosts art fairs during the summer months.
