Old town Truckee's historic Commercial Row

Cross the tracks in to Truckee and take a leisurely stroll along the antique buildings of Commercial Row. You’ll find about a ¼ mile of gift shops, restaurants, and unique stores to browse. The Truckee Hotel, the Truckee Doner Historical Society’s Old Jail museum, and the old stagecoach barn (now the Sierra mountaineer) are all within a short walk of the main drag. Although the main street is packed with the majority of stores, you’ll find some treasures along Jiboom and Bridge Street.

Squaw Valley's Olympic Heritage Museum

Located on Hwy 89 between Truckee and Tahoe City. The site of the 1960 Olympics still offers memories and activities. Enjoy the Olympic Heritage Museum at High Camp or spend the day walking the new village. Try the gondola ride to the top. Squaw Valley has ongoing summer and winter events to keep everyone from toddlers to seniors. Squaw also welcomes well trained dogs!

North Tahoe Arts Center

This yellow building next to the fire station served as the Post Office, the library and a community center, but is now the Arts center. It houses exhibits and has a gift shop filled with lots of little artistic treasures. Commons Beach park is directly below and is a wonderful spot to people watch and enjoy the lake.
