Lahontan HOA Amenities
Lahontan is one of Truckee's most exclusive private communities. The grounds are gated and quite a few of the owners have bought an extra lot or two for added privacy. Although there are just over 500 lots, I’ve heard estimations of 300 to 350 total homes when the build out is complete.
The amenities include an 18 hole gold course and a 9 hole golf course designed by Tom Weiskopf, clay tennis courts, a private lake, places to picnic and barbecue, a sand volleyball court, sporting fields and a pavilion with locker rooms and showers, golf shop, trails for members to hike and bike, cross country ski trails, saunas, steam rooms and social rooms, workout facilities, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, lap pool, a therapy pool, and an outdoor hot tub. They have activities for kids from May to Labor Day. The onsite security will check in on your home as requested.
There are two levels of membership: the social membership which is $87,500 to buy in, then $6000 a year; and the golf membership which is $175k to buy in, then $12,600 a year. The social membership includes everything the golf membership offers except the golf. There are also dues of $560 a quarter which takes care of maintenance of the roads, common areas, and the bathrooms and boat house by the lake.
Everyone can use the facilities. If you opt for the golf membership, they are pretty flexible as you would need one member in each foursome. The golf pro would most likely go out with you if you have more foursomes than members.
