Squaw Valley Ski Resort
The Squaw Valley Ski Resort is located in Squaw Valley which is approximately 5 miles from Tahoe City, 8 miles from Truckee, and just under 200 miles from San Francisco. The mountain offers world class skiing and attracts people from all over. They have many groomed trails and you'll find many challenging outcroppings and 2800 vertical feet. The base elevation is 6200 ft and the top of Granite Chief Peak is 9050 ft. Get around the mountain and ski the "3 P's"; Palisades, the Pocket and the Peak. Annual average snowfall is approximately 450 inches and they have snow making covering 600 acres. There are over 170 trails, 16 bowls, 30 lifts including the Tram and the Funitel, 3 surface lifts and 2 magic carpets.
