The West Shore of Lake Tahoe starts at Tahoe City and stretches beyond Emerald Bay. Visitors as well as locals enjoy the woodsy feel of the small neighborhoods. There are many access points to miles of trails along the whole west shore, whether you are mt biking, hiking, snowshoeing, or running. For the boating enthusiasts there is Sunnyside Marina & Storage, Obexer’s Boat Company, Homewood Marina, and Meeks Bay Marina. The bays on the west shore are great almost all day for water skiing and wake boarding.
For dining your options include The Bridgetender, The Uncommon Kitchen, Sunnyside, Fire Sign, Pisano’s Pizza, The West Shore Café, and West Side Pizza. A climb to the top of Eagle Rock will give you great views of Lake Tahoe; sunsets are gorgeous from here. You can bike from Tahoe City to Sugar Pine State Park along the paved West Shore bike path. Sugar Pine State Park has walking / hiking trails, camp sites, and access to Lake Tahoe via a sandy beach D.L. Bliss has great hiking trails along Lake Tahoe that will lead you to Emerald Bay. The park also has picturesque camp sites and sandy beaches.
